About Sage Construction Management

Corecon’s flagship product, Corecon v8, is a powerful and user-friendly web-based suite of software that offers a complete solution for managing project information, from preconstruction though project closeout. Utilizing the latest web technology, Corecon v8 maximizes efficiency and profitability by providing architects, engineers, contractors, and real estate firms anytime, anywhere access to important project information. This suite of software includes modules for business development, estimating, project management, job cost control, scheduling, and collaboration.

Bring your construction project team together from virtually anywhere!

With today’s mobile workforce, solutions connecting businesses to customers, partners and employees ensure business success. Using Corecon businesses can stay on top of project documents, contracts and budgets anytime, anyplace, anywhere using a browser or through the free handheld solution designed for Palm, Blackberry, Windows Mobile or Apple iPhone.

Built-in Collaboration for Partners

Corecon V8 has built-in collaboration throughout the estimating and project management modules. At no additional external project team members can respond to requests. E.g. subs/suppliers can respond to bid requests on Estimates or Change Proposal Requests (CPR) or outside project team members can respond to Journals, RFIs, Submittals, Comply Notices, or Work Orders.

Correspondence and Documentation

To facilitate effective communication in order to reduce delays and risk, Corecon provides a comprehensive set of project correspondence and documentation features that team members can access from the field or office. Daily Logs, Journals, Issues, Meeting Minutes, RFIs, Submittals, Punch list Items, and Work Orders are some of the features within these modules.

When coupled with the TeamLink Portal, outside team members can respond to correspondence directly in oneýs database providing real time updates and eliminate hassles of swapping emails or phone calls. Plus, Corecon’s Document Calendar and Alerts features provide tools to track time-sensitive material and alert the project staff when items are overdue or require follow-up.

Use Corecon’s estimating features to tackle the most complex bid. Maintain consistency from one estimate to next using industry standard cost databases such as RS Means or build your own. Use Work Breakdown Structures to group and sort estimate items in unlimited ways. In addition, markups can be applied at the line item level, section, and for the entire estimate.

Corecon’s team based approach to estimating provides the capability of multiple users working on the same estimate simultaneously. In addition, hundreds of subs and suppliers can provide pricing on estimate line items via the TeamLink Portal, eliminating the need to fax or call in their pricing. Bid analysis tools are available to analyze vendor pricing side by side, ultimately creating a more competitive proposal.

Project Management Financials

Job costing is one of the main reasons contracting firms look for a new accounting system. Many firms are satisfied with their accounting software in terms of general accounting functions, but when it comes to handling project related financials, i.e. subcontracts, change orders, AIA invoicing, and budget tracking, these systems tend to fall short. If your firm is struggling with these functions, Corecon is your answer!

Corecon’s project management financial features are flexible and powerful enough to meet the demands of any type and size firm. Below is a breakdown of the more salient features within these modules.

Many firms struggle with implementing a scheduling solution due to the lack of ability for field staff to provide task updates or ease-of-use issues. As a result, schedules that have been initially developed for the project proposal never get utilized after that point.

Corecon’s scheduling features were developed to address these specific issues. Distributed project teams can efficiently develop, manage and collaborate on their project tasks from any location using a browser or handheld device. Multiple schedules can be tracked for each project with each having unlimited tasks. Resources such as employees, vendors, and equipment can be assigned to tasks with options for email notifications. For firms using Microsoft Excel or Project, import options are available for these applications.

When we demod Corecon it seemed like a pretty good fit but it was a bit too much learning for our team. They also were not standard for our specifc industry (roofing) so we ended up looking at other options.

The Good…

Streamlined system that works well with QuickBooks

The Bad…

Was too much of a learning curve

Very Intuitive, well thought out product, has been a game changer for us. Cloud based so start up costs are low and most importantly I don’t need to buy any hardware. Very affordable and there is a great mobile app too.

The Good…

There is a customer/subcontractor portal that makes communication and statuses a snap

The Bad…

Eventhough integration with Quickbooks and Quickbooks online is good, I wish Corecon had it’s own self contained accounting package.
