Currently implementing the software now. There is a lot of pre-work to clean up our data and source documents first. Hopefully, we will be signing an agreement with them in October. Data and source docs are all cleaned up and we are testing our new docs/process now.

Great web-based budgeting tool that allows budget data to be either entered directly or linked to an Excel spreadsheet. Easy to search by keywords and set up access restrictions by department. Simple to copy one year to the next and carry-forward budget data.
Pros
The Excel linkage is a key feature, allowing managers to budget in detail in Excel when they need to or simply enter data direclty into Budgyt when they don't

The user interface for importing and exporting data could be a bit more streamlined and intuitive.

They recreated it in their software, exactly as I wanted
They took my data, my model that I had in excel, and they recreated it in their software, exactly as I wanted it. We are still working on our budget for next year but they are available whenever I need assistance and they have unlimited training with the price of the software.

Doing a great job, easy to use
Doing a great job, easy to use. Especially with the newest release and breaking out company divisions/departments; separate for security managers. Maintaining years of history, actuals compared to budget as well as implementing for us a “most probably year” scenario. Projects our current year very nicely.
Pros
Sets up special reports, very accommodating company and solution. Not too complicated as a lot of budgeting solutions tend to be.

Nothing of note. New release helps consolidate reports between departments. which was my biggest concern.

Budgyt is a comprehensive cloud-based budget tool that provides all the functionality and flexibility our organization needs. It replaced our Excel-based process.
Pros
This software has been a tremendous addition to our budget process. We've improved collaboration and eliminated formula errors. For more complex budget calculations, we can import directly from an Excel worksheet if we choose and that file stays linked in Budgyt so we can always review the budget methodology of that line item. We can search for keywords to review budget detail and compare a current year budget to prior year actuals. Non-finance savvy department managers find it a vast improvement over our previous Excel-based process. The customer service has been excellent. We asked for certain customizations and the Budgyt software team was able to accommodate our requests. I highly recommend the software.

As the Admin, I'd like to be able to set a default department rather than see all departments when I log in.

This product is a cloud based, easy to use, budgeting tool, that is very flexible.
Pros
The fact that we can break down our budget into may different groups, consolidate and report in both detail and consolidated via easy to use Excel.
Cons
In order to get some of my reporting, I must manipulate the data in excel, although the info is there for me to get it like I want it.

Allows users in our organizations to access budget to actual data
We use Quickbooks Premier in our organization, which has very limited Budget to Actual reporting capabilities. We were creating very large Excel workbooks by hand, which was extremely time consuming. In 2014 findaccountingsoftware.com put us in touch with James McCoy, owner and developer of Budgyt. James worked with us intensively to make the program work for us. We are a small Foundation, and our needs are somewhat unique. Now we are able to upload data using a .csv file from Quickbooks to Budyt and make the information available to users in our organization. Now we no longer have to generate reports in Quickbooks, and send them to users so that they can parse the data.
Pros
Strengths: Allows users in our organizations to access budget to actual data, without the involvement of accounting. Users are given access to only those accounts that they have ownership of. Budgyt is also quite user friendly. None of our users have had any difficulties learning how to use it . We have had pleasant surprises along the way as the program has been enhanced quite a bit. A sort by vendor function was recently introduced which our users will really benefit from. The Program also helps us identify miscoded items in Quickbooks because we can view the data from a new perspective once uploaded into Budgyt. On a final note, James is a pleasant person to work with, and will work hard to please you!
Cons
Some of the reports are a bit confusing to our users who don't have a lot of exposure to Excel. The reports contain many columns of information, such as Budget, Actual, $ variances, % variance YTD, and current versus prior year variances. This can be a lot of information for some basic users.

Keeps formulas and rules organized
Budgyt is a fairly lean budgeting software, but where it excels is in keeping formulas and rules organized and easily used between budget years in a much cleaner and easy to keep track of way than a traditional spreadsheet or other solution.
Pros
The best part of Budgyt is how easily formulas and other rules can be managed, used, and modified between budget years.
Cons
The UI could be a bit more intuitive, but after a week or so of regular use its easy to become very proficient.
