Our editorial review staff has demoed Epicor Kinetic and Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine). We’ve tested these products to bring firsthand experience to our comparison of these two ERP systems.
Epicor Kinetic is a two-tier ERP software known in manufacturing and distribution. It offers compliance management, planning and scheduling, supply chain management, quality assurance, and maintenance management. Kinetic provides product configuration, discrete manufacturing capabilities, and customizable reporting. However, it may not be the best fit for multinational organizations with multiple product lines.
Infor CloudSuite Industrial offers bill of materials features and modern design. The ERP’s key components include advanced planning and scheduling, supply chain management, accounting, and quality assurance. It supports creating and editing BOMs and an Engineering Board for accurate schedules and cost visibility. However, the QMS module is limited. Due to Infor CloudSuite’s broad feature set, it may require extensive training.
Epicor Kinetic is good for a range of businesses, from smaller companies to enterprises with over 10,000 employees. It supports mixed-mode, made-to-order, engineer-to-order, and discrete manufacturing environments.
In contrast, Infor CloudSuite is recommended for small companies and medium-sized distributors and manufacturers with ten to 500 employees. It supports made-to-order, made-to-stock, and mixed mode operations.
Based on our experience, Epicor Kinetic is likely to be the better option for most businesses. Kinetic offers a more comprehensive set of features, notably in manufacturing and reporting capabilities. Its built-in artificial intelligence support also lends a competitive edge.
However, Infor CloudSuite Industrial can be a good fit for businesses needing stronger BOMs features and built-in business intelligence.
