Our editorial review staff has tested and reviewed both Epicor Kinetic and Sage Intacct. We’ve operated these systems hands-on and are sharing our experiences to help you make an informed decision.
Epicor Kinetic is known for its strong presence in manufacturing and distribution. It offers compliance management, planning and scheduling, supply chain management, quality assurance, and maintenance management.
Epicor Kinetic is best suited for small businesses, mid-level organizations, and large enterprises. It shines particularly in mixed-mode, made-to-order, engineer-to-order, and discrete manufacturing environments.
We appreciate Kinetic’s extensive product configuration, discrete manufacturing capabilities, and customizable and extensive reporting. However, we found Kinetic is not the best choice for multinational organizations with numerous product lines due to its limited multi-company management capabilities.
Sage Intacct is a browser-based, GAAP-compliant financial management software system, distinguished by its powerful integrations and industry-specific services. It features multi-entity financial reporting and is endorsed as a “preferred provider of financial management applications” by the AICPA.
Sage Intacct is best suited for small businesses and mid-market companies. It’s particularly popular in the professional services, non-profit, retail, and healthcare industries.
We found Sage Intacct’s scalable multi-entity support, project accounting, and multi-dimensional reporting impressive. It also offers out-of-the-box functionality and integrations for CRM, inventory, and more. However, we don’t like that budgeting and interactive reporting come at an added cost.
Epicor Kinetic and Sage Intacct are serving two very different market segments. Epicor Kinetic is robust for manufacturing and distribution, particularly in discrete and engineer-to-order environments. Sage Intacct, on the other hand, excels in financial management and multi-entity reporting, making it a solid choice for the professional services, non-profit, and healthcare sectors.
When comparing the two, we found that Epicor Kinetic is better for most businesses. It offers a wider range of capabilities, extensive customization, and is suitable for businesses of all sizes. It also provides built-in artificial intelligence support, which is an added benefit.
While Sage Intacct is a strong financial management tool, its limitations like the lack of a mobile app and extra costs for certain features make it less versatile.
