My advice to others would be — don’t be afraid of the system. Get in there, learn it, ask questions, participate in inventory and do it regularly to get a handle on it. Meet your vendors, get to know your GPO. These things all help the Surgery Center of Fairbanks stay streamlined, accurate and driving toward cost reductions. We’re pleased that Envi has been a very active partner in achieving our goals this year.
We were able to achieve over $1 million in savings within the first year of the IOS system deployment (11 ASCs). The savings were achieved by having greater visibility into the prices paid for each product across all of our ASCs through IOS’s 3-way match process. Also, IOS’s enterprise system made it possible for us to track and enforce our local and GPO contracts across all of our ASCs.
