Sage X3 Review

June 27th, 2018 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

We had an integrator implement it and they did a bad job, we were told we don’t need the maintenance package so now we are stuck on the old version, there are a lot of bugs and one of our sales order tables got deleted.

Major reasons were usability. It did not require any add-ons. Local expertise and installation was available as well.

Pros

It's very flexible. It fit the business well.

Cons

Too flexible! It can be a weakness too. It took a lot of testing

Defect in algorithm of Sales and Inventory Module

February 4th, 2016 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

SAGE X3 – defect in algorithm of Sales and Inventory Module, currently non-erasable

Our company has been using Sage ERP, modules Sales and Inventory and Accounting and Finance. Since the very beginning we have been experiencing the following problem: for no apparent reason the algorithm in software modifies the purchase cost of inventory on all warehouses (locations). Correct values of prices (purchase costs) of goods are entered into Sage, for example: purchase cost, delivery cost, exchange rate, etc. After a short time software modifies these costs by different amounts, sometimes by 1PLN, sometimes by 10PLN, sometimes by more. Eventually, purchase cost of particular goods from the same delivery is different on different warehouses (locations).

It is a major defect which is causing misrepresentation of operating costs of the whole company by tens of thousands of PLN each month. Our Chief Accountant is unable to calculate correct financial result of year 2015. Moreover, any annual stocktaking is useless because software keeps importing goods at different prices than entry prices. Furthermore, sales team is unable to calculate their margin and commission on sales.

Apart from the above mentioned problem, the software does not allow for any basic accounting sheets like profit&loss, inventory sheet, tax declaration sheet, fixed assets sheet, etc.

Pros

web-based software barcodes scanning customer data base

Cons

accounting module - not ready to be launched unreliablility - many inherent errors
