It has what you need in a comprehensive shift scheduling tool

September 4th, 2020 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

It has what you need in a comprehensive shift scheduling tool. I measured it up against 10 other software companies that have a scheduling component and Hyre stood out because of the ease of use. I don’t really see anything that is missing from the software.

Pros

I have evaluated the software and although I have not yet used it (I will be using it starting next month), I am really excited to use the shift filling feature where I will be able to add outside contractors to my schedule. I manage an events company in Oshawa and my employees constantly call in sick. Next time that happens, I will just convert those employees' shifts into contract shifts. Such an impactful feature.

Cons

Haven't fully used it yet. Just evaluated it.

That feature really saved me

September 4th, 2020 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

Hyre is an employee shift scheduling software. It also includes a free employee clock in and clock out app, time tracking and management features, organizational management, and payroll.

Pros

I use it to schedule my staffs' weekly schedules. I create the shifts and then I like to allow my employees to pick and choose which shifts they like - so I enable them to do so through Hyre. They can only pick up shifts if I have pre-approved them for those shifts. If I find that there are gaps in my schedule, I open up the shifts to the public (the talent pool provided by Hyre) - that feature really saved me!

Cons

When I first started, Hyre didn't integrate with my payroll system but when I requested an integration, it was done within the following 2 weeks.

Hyre is an employee scheduling tool. Web-based. We started using this software for shift management, availability management and internal communication with staff.

Pros

I like how simple it is to post shifts and make a weekly schedule. It's great to have a calendar view to see all shifts and who's working on them.

Cons

I don't think there is anything that I dislike about it.

A great tool that has helped my business a lot - you can easily add recurring shifts with employees which saves a ton of time and energy. It also has features that just make things run a lot smoother, like digital time clock and payroll management. Highly recommend.

Pros

What I like best is how easy it is to use and schedule multiple shifts at once - I can even manage the schedule for different locations.

Cons

It takes some time to get used to the platform, but once you know your way around the features its extremely helpful

Genuinely saved me lots of time

September 2nd, 2020 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

Since I started using this software, I noticed how we’re spending less time on scheduling than we used to. It’s easier to manage availabilities and I always create multiple shifts at once. Genuinely saved me lots of time.

Pros

That I can schedule people in bulk. I have never seen that available anywhere else and now that is the feature I use most. I can schedule 20 people at the same time.

Cons

Hyre has a facility feature. We don't have any facilities, so I didn't use this feature for my organization. Nice to know its there but its not currently in use.

It’s an online software that allows digital staff scheduling and payroll for my business.

Pros

They have actually been quite responsive to my communications and questions. After work hours did not seem to be a problem for them to get back to me.

Cons

Speed between switching pages has been improving but can still use tweaks.

Very Simple and Convenient

September 2nd, 2020 • Roles: Purchaser & End User

I helped manage a food prep company over the summer and needed a scheduling tool for my staff. I used a few different tools but landed on Hyre because its layout was so simple. I really enjoyed the calendar view - it had a simple drag and drop feature that gave you a “make it and forget it” feeling for weekly scheduling. It’s so automated and useful. It beats the old style of tracking things manually. Highly recommended!

Pros

Very Simple and Convenient

Cons

I haven't used all of Hyre's features. I intend to book a demo soon to onboard myself. The company pumps out features every month, so there's always something new.
