User Reviews of Tyler Enterprise ERP
Write a ReviewBeen using Munis for 2 years and I wish to go back
Been using Munis for 2 years and I wish to go back to the old system it replaced.
Pros
Software has the potential to be great but falls short due to a lot of shortcomings. Response in fixing issues is horrible. When they fix an issue, another one surfaces.
Cons
The urgency for them to fix issues.
Great reporting and flexability
We were looking for an ERP for our Township and ended up looking at the Tyler Technology Software. Tyler Tech’s product actually had more reporting capabilities and greater flexibility for accessing data than the other programs we reviewed, but they were about $16,000 more expensive than Edmunds. So we ended up going with the Edmunds over Tyler Techs Munis program.
Pros
Great reporting and flexability
Cons
No project management included More expensive than comparable systems.
Please listen to your users
Please listen to your users!! We have been asking for changes for years…changes that work!
Pros
Nothing to like about this system - Very poor design and no customer support. Unfortunately we went back 20 years in technology.
Cons
Was told it could do everything we asked. Unfortunately it cannot. To be usable it takes a lot of modifications and work arounds. The training was awful and implementation was not easy.

Broken features, terrible design, non existent support
It is horrid. Broken features, terrible design, non existent support, technology that was antiquated 20+ years ago.
Pros
Nothing at all.
Cons
Complicated interface riddled with programming errors. Servers are down for multiple days every week. Makes contracting with outside agencies a nightmare. No support... pretty much dead content. Seriously.. this thing looks like it was designed for an interface 30 years ago.
Developers of this application should fix it
Developers of this application should fix it. So behind with the other software, improve the system and listen to all the users that had been inputting request on how to improve Tyler Munis. LISTEN.
Pros
Nothing because the system does not modify to what we need.
Cons
The scanner software that is supposed to be tied with the Tyler Munis system to do inventory does not make sense to me. For fixed-asset inventory, the only field that can update is Room and Last inventory Date. There are other fields that requires changes during scanning when an asset condition change to not working. Support can be very slow or sometimes no answer at all.

Tyler Enterprise ERP Review
So far, not so good!
Pros
I do not know yet
Cons
Complicated, not user friendly, expensive.
Their support of their product leaves a LOT to be desired
The software requires a lot of support; of which they have… if you can get the right person/department. Their support of their product leaves a LOT to be desired. They are not good at following up, and the silos internally are alive and well. Trying to get them to support their product is extremely frustrating. I would recommend you think long and hard before purchasing and getting tied to this organization. It’s difficult to walk away after making such an investment.
Pros
If it worked like advertised it would be great, but it doesn't. When it works; its awesome, but when you hit a glitch you almost have to figure it out on your own.
Cons
The product support is horrid. Having various modules is difficult as the company does not have a single person that knows everything about your organization, and thus you have to contact any number of people to get assistance... good luck!

- Annual revenue $10M-$50M
The biggest issue is the customer service
The software is not customized and strangely designed. The biggest issue is the customer service. Tyler does not care about customers. Beware that anyone that purchases this program, you are on your own. There is no help.
Pros
It is web based, so that is a nice modern feature. Also documents can be attached to some of the accounts.
Cons
There is no customer support. Munis promises the world but will not be there when you need help. There is always someone more important that they have to attend to when you need help

Tyler Enterprise ERP Review
Doesn’t do well with mending with other applications. It’s own internal apps are not even close to best of breed
Now it takes us 24 to 48 hours to hire a person
Before we had Munis, we were doing everything by paper. In just our HR side, we’d go to hire a new employee and it would take 3 weeks to find the paperwork floating around the city before someone signed off and hired that person. Now it takes us 24 to 48 hours to hire a person because we put everything into the Munis system and use workflow to be able to track it and get it posted to our live payroll system.
Tyler is flexible enough that if they do not have a specific module for it, we can still find a way to process it through our system. It has helped centralized us. We use our Board of Education, Library, and Stadium to all centralize these into one location. We could then decentralize some functionalities back out to them. The software has let us work together better than before.
a huge leap forward in our customer relations
The challenges we had was communicating with the customer. The local utilities did not have a way of connecting or communicating besides through mail.
In the past when we had a service outage due to a busted service main or a fire hydrant, we’d turn off the water main and that prompted a lot of phone calls into our office.
Tyler Notify let us notify our customers in a matter of minutes to let them know they missed a payment, that their services would be disconnected, and let them make payments online to prevent service being shut off. It’s been a huge leap forward in our customer relations.
The time frame of implementation was a matter of hours. Had I known going in how long it would have taken to implement and training, I would have only used a half of a day. It could not have been simpler. I’d recommend this to any utilities company.
