Epicor Kinetic vs. NetSuite ERP
We tested and reviewed two popular ERP solutions: Epicor Kinetic and NetSuite ERP. We have demoed both products and based our comparison on our experience.
Epicor Kinetic Overview
Epicor Kinetic launched in 2021 as a rebrand of Epicor ERP. This launch included significant updates and new features, including enhanced document security, improved EDI integration, compliance, and Epicor Commerce Connect updates.
Epicor ERP offers numerous key features to support manufacturing businesses, including production, supply chain, financial, and customer relationship management. With built-in artificial intelligence support and extensive reporting features, Epicor Kinetic offers valuable planning, scheduling, supply chain management, quality assurance, and maintenance management tools.
The system can integrate with other Epicor products, eCommerce platforms like Magento and Shopify, CRM and HR systems like Workday and Salesforce, and Shipping providers. It is available on-premise and as a cloud-based solution.
NetSuite ERP Overview
In 2002, NetSuite changed its name from NetLedger and launched its first cloud-based ERP solution, NetSuite ERP. This system has a mature, cloud-native design with a wide feature set suitable for multiple industries.
NetSuite is a multi-tenant ERP software that supports finance, operations, sales, service, and HR needs. It offers high customization and scalability. NetSuite also integrates with eCommerce platforms like Shopify eBay, and BigCommerce, point-of-sale apps, and more, providing a comprehensive business solution.
Target Market Comparison
Epicor Kinetic is suitable for various businesses, from smaller companies (10-50 employees) to enterprises (over 10,000 employees). It’s powerful in mixed-mode, made-to-order, engineer-to-order, and discrete manufacturing environments.
NetSuite best serves fast-growing SMBs across various industries, including information technology and services, computer software, hospitality, nonprofits, and retail. However, due to its complexity, it’s not recommended for startups and may not be the best choice for businesses needing field service management and heavy manufacturing support.
Epicor Kinetic vs NetSuite ERP: Which is Better for Most Businesses?
For most businesses, we recommend NetSuite ERP. Its accounting and supply chain management, customization, and scalability make it versatile for various industries.
However, if your business operates in the manufacturing or distribution sector, Epicor Kinetic’s industry-specific features may offer more value.
