SYSPRO Review: Features, Ratings, Pros, Cons
We like SYSPRO for its user-friendliness, accessibility across devices, and extensive AI and IoT integrations. It also offers hybrid, on-prem, and cloud options and supports parallel accounting for global regulations.
We don’t like that SYSPRO requires 3rd party add-ons for functions like EDI and shipping notifications. It also lacks customization flexibility and doesn’t include payroll or HR modules. Additionally, there are limited training resources available.

Who Uses SYSPRO?
We found SYSPRO efficient for small, medium, and enterprise-level manufacturers and distributors. Popular industries include automotive parts and accessories, cannabis, chemicals and fertilizers, computers and electronics, fabricated metal, food and beverage, and more. SYSPRO can deploy through the cloud, on premise, or through a hybrid model. Companies can license the solution through either a perpetual or subscription pricing model.
What Features Are Missing?
-
Payroll and HCM features: SYSPRO does not offer modules for payroll and HCM, so manufacturers and distributors must seek out separate specialized systems. This may require additional investment in integrations and time spent reconciling data between different platforms.
-
Simple reporting: Reporting in native SYSPRO offers limited parameters for users. Companies will likely need a dedicated report writer with Crystal Reports or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to create dynamic custom reports with interactive capabilities.
SYSPRO Pricing
SYSPRO is similar to other manufacturing ERP solutions where set pricing isn’t published online. The total cost of ownership factors in various features like subscription fees, license type, business size, required customizations, implementation complexity, maintenance and support, and user count.
Companies generally purchase SYSPRO through a value-added reseller (VAR), who spearheads implementation and training. The reseller then provides additional troubleshooting and support post-implementation.
How Many Companies Use SYSPRO?
Over 15,000 corporate customers and 300,000 end users utilize SYSPRO. The system is a veteran in the ERP landscape, founded in 1978. SYSPRO is popular among SMBs in manufacturing and distribution across North America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and the United Kingdom.
Alternatives
Summary
We recommend SYSPRO for distributors and manufacturers of all sizes. Its industry-specific features make it an excellent fit for food, beverage, fabricated metal, and many more industries. SYSPRO’s scalability allows businesses to add and remove modules as their needs change.
However, we found that integrating additional modules increases the total cost of ownership. SYSPRO does not offer modules for HCM or payroll, so companies will need to turn to third-party systems for those functionalities. Finally, the reporting functionalities, though robust, come with a steep learning curve.
Overall, SYSPRO is a suitable choice for businesses requiring a modular approach to ERP and specialized functionalities for their industries.

Syspro's ability to track and update on production is robust
As a manufacturer production tracking is essential and Syspro’s ability to track and update on production is robust and efficient. They color code the projects so you are alerted to any issues. If a project is green, all material is available and received. If a project is yellow, we know we still have parts we are waiting on, allowing us to schedule accordingly. The only piece that fell slightly short was the interface is not as visually appealing as the other options we have reviewed.

A company that truly understood the industry
As a pharmaceutical distributor it was important that we went with a compnay that truly understood the industry. The Syspro provider we worked with was educated on the FDA and drug enforcement requirments and how their software could easily meet those needs. Every time we got on the phone with him, it was as if we were speaking with a pharmaceutical rep.
SYSPRO Review
This company has gone above and beyond for our cannabis industry and we are happy to be going with them.

It doesn’t do basic math correctly
It doesn’t do what it promises to do. The accounting software is weak. It shaves pennies off every order. It’s really bad. Syspro doesn’t take any accountability at all. They have a very high turn over rate.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
It doesnt do basic math correctly. Syspro does not guarantee any customizations. Their product is a glitch fest.
SYSPRO Review
Annual costs seem kind of high for this solution. We need EDI and advanced shipping notifications which they don’t have, and we are paying $12,000 annually for maintenance which seems high
SYSPRO Review
what i found was that it can only print statements for 3 months. i wanted the accounts receivables and payable to be able to print customer and suppliers history for atleast 1year
Pros
flexibility
Cons
not enough reports
Changing form layout and adding custom fields is so easy
Pros: Tracks inventory and costs in details. Integrates easily with MS-Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook and Word. Designed ground-up for manufacturers and distributors. Workflow - for accounting and procurement process. Pretty powerful and integrated software. Easily customizable without a developer. Stable and low total-cost compared to other ERP products. Cons: Some modules like Budget preparation with a team is a 3rd party add-on.
Pros
Changing form layout and adding custom fields is so easy.
Cons
Scope for better integration with Budgeting and Payroll modules. Cloud hosting is offered, but not matured enough.
SYSPRO Review
It definitely connects everything together. It is fully integrated, everything talks to each other and it follows itself the whole way through the system so you are not left with something being known on one side but not the other.
Pros
I do like the program but there isn't one thing that stands out, maybe that it is fully integrated.
Cons
I am not really a big fan of the reporting. I would like it if there were more standard reports that we could then customize a bit more, but it still has the basics.
