Jewelry business management software from Bejeweled Software Company
Jewelry Designer Manager is a business management solution for craft jewelers. This system assists with tracking inventory, pricing jewelry, and managing sales. Reporting functionality helps you create professional reports and documents including line sheets, look books, price lists, invoices, packing slips, and more. Jewelry Designer Manager integrates with Shopify, Etsy, and Facebook to help manage online sales.
Bejeweled Software Company is no longer in business. Because of this, Jewelry Designer Manager is no longer sold or supported.
Please visit the jewelry store software page for alternatives.
I am unable to get into my program and thus have NO ACCESS to the thousands and thousands of entries of both components AND finished pieces. If anyone knows of a ‘migration pak’ or any way I can access my data, please text or call Dana at 541-260-2211. Decades of work are locked up in the program that will not open. Thank you!
I like that all components can be listed and then added to each jewelry piece along with the photo of EVERY item entered.
No access to the software on my computer. At this point i don’t care about updates, i just want to be able to access the program and continue using what i paid for.
The creator unfortunately recently passed away leaving the product dead but we are writing a new version that will be able to use data from the old programs… for details log onto our new forum at https://jewelrydesignersuite.proboards.com/
The latest version used Filemaker Pro as a dev system.
no usable upgrades available
The creator unfortunately recently passed away. Prior to that she was very responsive and helpful. May she rest in peace. There is a facebook page to help those who need to retrieve their data.
The program is still very useful to me. I have it on a stand alone CPU, not connected to the internet.
Unfortunately, due to the untimely death of the creator, the program is no longer being updated.
Inputting beads etc in a separate module and being able to enter a photo of the finished jewelry in another module and then being able to grab exact number of beads etc from the first module and get an exact cost in the finished jewelry module … this was an excellent program.
Aside from this program being excellently designed, I was always cautious about its link with Microsoft Access database software. What if Access crashed? What if Access was upgraded along with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite? Could Jewelry Designer Manager be launched using another database software not from Microsoft?
What I now like least is that Barbara Carleton must have had a heart attack and died. Whoever is the beneficiary of her estate has not followed up with the thousands of us who have purchased this software, have taken hours to input every single little think that is used to design jewelry, and now are unable to launch this software because it’s “locked.” This is unconscionable. No one from Bejeweled or SoftwareConnect.com has notified anyone about the disposition of this software or even the health of Ms. Carleton. This was expensive software, upgrades were costly, our time invested in using it, and our dedication to and willingness to buy the software are valid reasons for letting customers know what happened.
This software was clearly designed by someone in the jewelry business. Almost all features you will need are in this software, though the interface is a bit plain. There was an issue with the licensing in Dec 2019 but a user group (Jewelry Design Manager) was setup in Facebook that was very helpful in resolving the issue.
the features and functionality
the licensing issue and end of support
It was a wonderful program while it lasted. I paid 269.00 in 2016 having spent hundreds of hours inputing information and photos into it and now I cannot use it. Barbara Carleton seems to have vanished from the planet and I cannot get her or anyone from Bejeweled to help me get it to work again. Terrible business person, this is criminal behavior. Can we do a class action lawsuit against her?
I liked that I could organize my business in a simple way when all other options were confusing and cumbersome.
I despise the fact that the business folded and I lost my investment in the JDM Plus program without this company giving me an alternative.
I originally purchases the Microsoft Access Version, when I updated in 2019 I found you had changed the format and the back up would not import, Now they have shut down your site and I’m out another $300.00 I thought that a program, by law had to have support for 10 years before they could shut it down. I agree with the other posters, this was without warning, sounds like a scam to me.
I have no idea, I can’t get the program up even with the jewel case Key.
That they took my money and ran.
I bought this software early 2019, there was no indication or mention it was going to be retired. When notified, I was informed the software could still be used, just not updated. Now, I am unable to access all of my inventory. I would not have purchased or spent HOURS inputting if I had known in advance. No way to get help. Very bad customer service!
It was wonderful while it worked
After using JDM since 2012, I decided in early November to upgrade to the premier plus version. After asking her several questions about memos, etc… I handed over the extra $99 without a mention from her that she was retiring the program. Now I’ve had to buy a new computer and although I saved the download, the key won’t work because it has to connect with her server which is now non-existent. I am considering BBB complaint, although I don’t know how much good that will do. Pretty lousy thing to do!
It was a great program, although support was always lacking.
The fact that she took my money and a month later retired the program without a mention, even after all the questions I asked.
I also lost the software and it’s data without notification. We tried to download the link to an update which was required to continue. Us, like many others, could not get the link to the update, and our calls to Barbara and emails went unanswered. We lost inventory control on 2700 items, our sales and customer and consignment data records for the past 8 years. Barbara Carlson’s integrity is beyond terrible. She knew exactly what she was doing. She left ALL of her customers w no inventory control system and It’s data. She knew. She didn’t care. I paid for one year of technical support lately soon. I have the highest disregard for her.
I just explained.
Jewelry design manager and bejeweled software was closed on Christmas Day of 2019 on very short notice. If users missed the single email sent out to update their program it ceased to function. Many users myself included are now scrambling to try to recover locked data including in my case my entire inventory consisting of hundreds of items and customer lists. Basically Barbara just walked away and took the program with her. All efforts to contact her have been unsuccessful. This program was still being sold until very recently with no indication this was going to occur. Good luck if you use this program hire a good computer expert to try to crack the security and recover what you can.
I used this software for 15 years and it’s now useless
The fact that Barbara who provided the software effectively took it back from everyone who paid for it along with their data.
I support myself and family by making jewelry. I rely on Jewelry Design Manager for pricing and inventory control. Because of JDM I have been able to organize my inventory to a greater degree than any other time in the 86 years my family has made jewelry. I have used JDM for many years and have been able to start slow and build my existing business around JDM so that the learning curve was flat and ability of an old established business to computerize was slow and easy. I utilize JDM everyday and price all my pieces through it. Barbara Carleton has always, always, been very helpful and timely in helping me with any and all questions. I don’t know what I’d do with out JDM and Barbara and cannot recommend it enough.
