We’ve ridden along with several price hikes but at one point enough is enough
Pros
UI
Cons
It's not working well with any larger operation
We are having such a difficult time understanding the program
The software itself appears to have all of our needed features but we are having such a difficult time understanding the program, we have stopped inputting any type of data into it. We were hopeful the technical support would resolve any issues but there doesn’t appear to be any. You can only email but we are yet to get any of our issues resovled. We are afraid if we enter any formulations into the system we will lose that data permanently. It is not a software we could confidently continue to operate on.

It has been very painful all year long
It has been very painful all year long we have worked with the software. I highly suggest to look for other more reliable options
Pros
Easy to use at the beginning
Cons
Lack of functions. There's no transaction history, so is difficult to track the common problems with transactions. Buggy. Bad service overall.
Pretty much stand alone - no invoicing
We’re still using them but probably moving from them and going to NetSuite. It wasn’t the best solution but it was the only solution at the time; we were under a time crunch but we’ve made it work. It doesn’t do anything with invoicing or bringing stuff over to QuickBooks or whatever accounting system you’re using. Pretty much stand alone - no invoicing. I mean it does sales order but you have to create invoices from the sales order. Our old system used to create invoices so we’ve added a little more work than we anticipated. Support was pretty good. We were limited to who we could use for our shipping service. I think we ended up going to 2Ship and then they had to come in and do some programming. Kinda last minute stuff to make everything work. You’re probably getting what you’re paying for with Katana. It’s not the most expensive but its not the cheapest.
Helped our small business plan our resources better
Helped our small business plan our resources better and reduce waiting time as well as wasted inventory. The reports are very easy to use.
Pros
Most probably the reports function.
Cons
It could have more customizable complex functions, like more preprogrammed quantity management types already as options. But it's always possible to reach out to them directly to get something set up.
Katana keeps accurate stock of our assemblies and ingredients
Katana keeps accurate stock of our assemblies and ingredients so that I can plan out manufacturing and get instant feedback on whether or not I have enough resources in stock to complete an order.
This software has saved me nearly $20,000 in annual payroll because I was able to almost completely replace an employee with this software. THAT is how much time it has saved us, 20 hours a week of counting, spreadsheeting, ordering and fixing mistakes. Now that I have Katana, I can’t live without it.
Katana MRP Review
Katana’s automatic raw material management and simple entries system makes for a super easy solution. It’s a tool that tackles all our struggles in identifying material needs for both our MTO and our MTS products. We just wish we’d adopted it sooner.
We've been able to be on top of our order fulfillment
At first, we approached work ad-hoc, mainly doing everything by estimations. But once we got started with Katana, we were able to formulate a schedule and get our stock under control. Before, we would quite often experience delays but, since using Katana, we’ve been able to be on top of our order fulfillment.
Best Shopify app out there for managing orders
Best Shopify app out there for managing orders if you make-to-order and track inventory. It’s simple to use and the straight to the point layout makes it a breeze for any user. Lots of highly complex ERP systems struggle to do the basic tasks that this system handles from day one. A must-have if you make-to-order.
The tool is great, very intuitive and extremely detailed
We’ve switched to Katana to manage our entire inventory and manufacturing process for our Shopify store. The tool is great, very intuitive and extremely detailed. If you actually produce stuff, sell on Shopify and want to grow, this is the tool that you need to manage your back-end like a pro.
