It has created ways of tracking and reporting out on student data that we never thought possible. Mentoring and caring for kids when they are failing or in at-risk academic situations has helped turn them around. With PowerSchool, it makes it possible to see the important data that identifies these students, so we can step in to help them do their best.

PowerSchool SIS is a fully integrated system for all data, and a centralized data system for all third-party data. It’s important to have everything in one place.

PowerSchool is so robust. They have just so many different features. They are constantly growing. Correct data comes in and correct data comes out. It makes my job easier for CALPADS state reporting purposes to have everything correctly in PowerSchool. There’s so much support, there’s something that comes up from the state that they absolutely need and PowerSchool is right there writing the right reports for us to be able to export and import into PowerSchool.

The fact that it allows so many people to collaborate and look at the same information and not have to go back and forth between different systems is really useful.

It helps teachers learn how to be better teachers. It helps site administrators learn how to be better site administrators. It helps students learn how to be better students, because they all know what the data is. They can all see how it’s impacting them, whether it be on performance as a school or performance as a student.

Being able to give that feedback to our teachers, to our students, to our parents immediately really helps drive everyone forward.

One of our key goals was that we would be moving into a web environment, so we were looking for web-based if at all possible. We also wanted something in the Canadian context. A lot of software we looked at tends to have an American focus which doesn’t always translate very well to what our needs are. When we evaluated PowerSchool, it was made clear how much it could be customized. It helped with the translation issue from one jurisdiction to another. It also let us future-proof as things changed in our jurisdiction.

PowerSchool is head and shoulders above the other systems I’ve dealt with. It covers everything from scheduling to graduation planning. It’s very useful for a number of different people in schools. It’s very dynamic and robust.
