Yardi Genesis² is a cost-effective Software as a Service (SaaS) property management and accounting solution for small to mid-sized residential and commercial real estate management companies. Genesis² is fully web-based and combines your operational and accounting data in one system with access anywhere you have an Internet connection, using any browser. Genesis² supports many different property types, including multifamily, office, industrial, and retail properties.
Genesis² features a powerful general ledger with accounts receivable (A/R) and payable (A/P) functions, check writing, and bank reconciliation. With an intuitive interface that lets users operate the program with ease, Genesis² delivers built-in security, dashboards, analytics and reporting, automated prospect and resident workflows, and a valuable correspondence package to help you run your business more efficiently.
Genesis² combines a comprehensive property and tenant database with report writing capability, and comes with over 140 industry-standard reports that can be exported quickly to Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word®, or Microsoft Excel®. This wide-ranging suite of reports and powerful real-time analytics feature drill down from summary to underlying detail that can be accessed with a single mouse click.
For our commercial clients, Genesis² provides automated functionality for estimated CAM reconciliation. With a simple report, you can compare the allocated CAM charges against the billed charges to reconcile at the end of the year. The report can be shared with your tenants and the charges or credits can be easily posted to their accounts. For retail properties, the overage module calculates and posts the additional charges due based on sales figures submitted by the tenant, and for leases with price index clauses a lease escalation function is also available.
Processing tenant receipts can be a labor-intensive task, but Genesis² automates this process for you. Smart input methods and optional OCR scanning streamline the recording of tenant receipts. And whether you are dealing with simple residential rent or complex commercial leases, Genesis² provides all the easy-to-use tools you need to track your payables in both cash and accrual accounting.
Genesis² can post monthly charges with the click of a button. With the Detailed Receipts function, dollar amounts are automatically applied to charges as receipts are entered. Payable features include vendor-based expense accounts, electronic payments to owners and vendors, and partial payments as needed. Other controls include the ability to put holds on individual invoices, vendor accounts, and stopping payments to vendors whose insurance has expired
With Genesis², there is no need to purchase a separate program to track maintenance information. Online work orders track the inventory, materials, labor, and other information related to the work on a property or a unit. Genesis² lets you enter, edit, and post work orders, add specific instructions for staff and vendors, document the status of any project, and use work order reports as dispatch tools. Genesis² can also create both charges and payables from the Work Order screen.
As a cloud-hosted and web-based platform, Genesis² enables you to easily adopt add-on products that will improve your productivity and efficiency. For example, for companies with multifamily properties, when you add RENTCafé" as your marketing and leasing solution, you benefit from an easy online process to attract more prospects and capture more leases. You also get a resident portal with features like online work order submission.
To help you consistently select and retain low-risk residents, Yardi Resident Screening" can be added as a seamless part of your leasing workflow to take the guesswork out of approving applicants.
And with Yardi Payment Processing" you gain additional resident payment options that will streamline your accounts receivable and maximize your cash flow, including Yardi Online Payments" for credit and debit card payments, Yardi CHECKscan" for electronic check processing and our Walk-in Payment System (WIPS") to provide your residents with convenient cash payment options.
It’s great if we had a lot of properties but it isn’t cost effective for me
Cannot run applications through the system, it is more used for an accounting set than it is for property management and isn’t connected with anything.
