The Appgen Custom Suite is a collection of collaborative commerce modules from which you select to form a ‘Total Business Management’ computing environment for your own small to mid-sized business.
These modules were designed specifically for use by small and mid-sized businesses of all types, and may be assembled in any way that suits your business needs. The modules include General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll Processing, Billing, Bank Reconciliation, Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing, Inventory Control, Job Cost Tracking, Bill of Materials, ODBC, SSL Security, CBT (character-based terminal support), the Total Business Management Interface, and others. The business accounting modules are general ledger based, true double entry, fully audited, conform to the standards of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and are modifiable, scalable, and portable.
The Appgen Custom Suite may be deployed on Unix, Windows, Mac OS X®, and Linux systems in standalone, peer-to-peer, and client/server configurations. An Appgen Developer’s Kit is available to tailor the modules to specific needs. Customization is also provided by Appgen’s Professional Services Group and worldwide network of developers and Value-Added Resellers (VARs). The Appgen Custom Suite scales to hundreds of users.
The Appgen Accounts Payable software module is a full-featured accounts payable system for small to mid-sized businesses that is easy to use and ensures the user visibility and control of payables accounting. This voucher-based system provides convenience, accountability, and security, so you never have to wonder where your money went–or why. All expenses are tracked in vouchers that can be voided, but never deleted.

Appgen Easy Query provides a point-and-click user interface to the powerful Appgen Query Language (AQL). With this interface, users can easily view all data that is accessible. Lists of data files, presented in English description rather than just with their cryptic file names assigned by programmers, and the data fields found in them are presented in pop-up windows. By clicking on these selections, and others that determine the selection criteria and sorting orders, users build query statements with no typing. Easy Query allows you to direct the results of the queries to the screen, any available printer, or to a file. Query statements may be saved for future use or editing.
The Appgen Bill of Materials module is a full-featured software system for small to mid-sized businesses that provides a complete set of the bill of materials (BOM) features needed by both manufacturers and wholesale distributors who perform light assembly. This module tightly integrates with Appgen Inventory Control to retrieve and update raw material, sub-assembly, and finished goods quantities and costs. A special Cost Code file keeps track of the different types of costs beyond actual inventory costs. Each BOM can accommodate an unlimited number of parts and levels and all information regarding the assembly of finished products, including materials, labor, overhead, subcontracting, and virtually any other processes that affect the final cost of the finished product.

The Appgen Billing module is a full-featured software system for small to mid-sized businesses that provides a complete set of billing functions, is easy to use, and ensures the user visibility and control of their invoicing processes. This Billing module accommodates the invoicing needs of companies that sell services rather than (or in addition to) products and do not need to track order fulfillment or inventory.
The invoices accommodate an unlimited number of line items, each with an unlimited number of text lines. A Products & Services file stores line items that are used repeatedly so that entry of invoices is quicker and more accurate. Other features include Recurring Invoices, Quotes, and a comprehensive drill-down inquiry for all customers, products, services, and billing documents. Reports include Sales Analyses, Quote Analyses, Invoice Register, and Invoice Histories.

A statement generator with maximum flexibility allows you to design and implement custom financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and supporting schedules of purchases and sales, with comparisons, budgets, and variances.

The Appgen Inventory Control module is a full-featured software system for small to mid-sized businesses that provides a complete set of inventory functions, is easy to use, and tightly integrates with the Appgen General Ledger and Sales and Purchase Order Processing modules. This multi-company, multi-warehouse system lets you easily record item receipts, warehouse transfers, and stock adjustments. Features include the automatic packing and unpacking of Kits, serial number tracking with specific unit costing, multiple units of measure, Physical Inventory, automatic price updates, an Enhanced ABC Classifications and Analysis and a comprehensive drill-down inquiry for all inventory items, warehouses and inventory documents. Inventory costing methods available are LIFO, FIFO, and Average Cost.

The Appgen Job Cost Tracking module is a full-featured software system for small to mid-sized businesses that provides a complete set of job costing functions, is easy to use, and ensures the user visibility and control of their job cost processes. Transaction entry is easy and up-to-date reports are provided for controlling all areas of cost. The Profit Analysis Report presents the ýbottom lineý, job-by-job, with totals and percentages. For more detailed analysis is, the Cost Analysis offers divisions for each costing category for every job selected.
Detailed reports may be printed to show every transaction posted to any job and cost category. Budgeting features are available with actual cost versus budgeted cost analysis. An unlimited variety of jobs, job types, and cost codes are accommodated. When used in conjunction with the Appgen Accounts Payable and Payroll modules, job costing information is created and updated automatically from the original entries in Accounts Payable and Payroll. A comprehensive drill-down inquiry allows you to quickly access all information and transactions related to any job. The Appgen Payroll Processing software module is a full-featured payroll system for small to mid-sized businesses that is easy to use and ensures the user visibility and control of payroll accounting. It is designed with flexibility so that a virtually unlimited variety of earnings codes, taxes, and miscellaneous deductions may be accommodated. Time cards are automatically generated, for both salaried and hourly workers, edited as necessary, and the checks are printed.

Starting with purchase advice reports and requisitions, Appgen Purchase Order takes you through purchase order creation and entry, to merchandise receipts and vendor performance analysis.

The Appgen Sales Order Processing module is a full-featured software system for small to mid-sized businesses that incorporates all the functions of sales order, invoicing, and sales analysis into one tightly integrated system with the Appgen Inventory Control and Accounts Receivable modules. Inventory stock is committed and relieved as orders are entered and shipped, and invoice amounts are posted to the Accounts Receivable files after invoices are printed. The sales analysis reports aid in evaluating the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.
The comprehensive pricing structure allows for list-minus-discount, cost-plus, contract, promotional, and quantity break prices in any combinations. Appgen Sales Order is a true double entry, fully audited accounting system that is available on AIX, Unix, Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows in standalone, peer-to-peer and client/server configurations.
